Vertical Teams
The College and Career Readiness Standards project has relied on vertical teams of K-12 educators and higher education faculty to forge consensus on instructional standards. These teams have also identified useful classroom resources and served as an important sounding board for policy implementation. There are vertical teams in each of the four content areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
The Phase I team was instrumental in developing the college and career readiness standards. The Phase II and III team was guided the analysis of the current secondary curriculum against the standards and helped identify important student and teacher instructional support materials.
